Funding Son's College will Help Other Students

Funding Son's College will Help Other Students

Ewell and Donna Gunter invested in a rental property to help pay their son's college expenses. Ewell says, "Since the Lord helped us so that we didn't have to sell the property to get our sons and daughter through college we would now like to use a portion of it to help other students."

Several options were explored with one of the PLNU Planned Giving Directors. Finally, it was decided that a charitable tax deduction for an outright scholarship gift would offset capital gains taxes on the portion they desired to keep for personal needs. So the Gunters established "The Gunter Memorial Scholarship Fund" for students preparing for full-time ministry. This will be an on-going legacy assisting many students in the future.

"It was a wise decision to check with the University's Office of Planned Giving and I found them to be easy to work with and very helpful."
